30-Day Supply of Designer Fragrances
I absolutely love perfume–I feel incomplete if I leave the house without my regular spritz of fragrance. Since I’m always looking for new ones to try, I was excited to stumble upon ScentBox. This subscription box provides subscribers with a 30-day supply of a high-end fragrance each month. They offer brands such as Gucci, Juicy Couture, Prada, Versace, Moschino, Fendi, Givenchy, and hundreds more. It’s a little different from many of the subscription boxes I review, so I was excited to try it out.
As I subscribed to receive their boxes immediately, I’ll be posting monthly ScentBox reviews to share how I liked the service, if I think it’s worth it, future coupons I find, and so on. This first article will outline my first box experience, the coupon offers I came across, as well as the website experience in general. I will also compare the offer to ones offered by competitors such as Luxury Scent Box and others.
The ScentBox website is easy to navigate and provides all the information you’ll need to know about their service. They advertise their first month’s deal right on their homepage, which is helpful as you don’t have scout the internet for hidden coupons.
My first thought about ScentBox when I saw the price was that it’s a little high for the amount of perfume you’re receiving. Essentially, it’s just a fragrance sample which you can get for free at any makeup or department store.
However, as outlined in the majority of ScentBox reviews, the ease of having it shipped right to your door without having to go to the store might be worth the price. Plus, the perfumes they offer are costly for a full-size bottle, so having a 30-day sample allows you to test out the fragrance much more effectively.
ScentBox Review – The Offer
ScentBox has two different monthly plan options – standard or premium. The standard subscription costs $13.95 per month while the premium is priced at $18.95 per month. Shipping is free regardless of the plan you opt for. The ScentBox premium fragrances were more intriguing to me, so I opted for that plan since I was able to get 35% off my first month.
Even though there is a difference in pricing, the only substantial distinction between the two subscription tiers is the fragrance choices. You’ll be able to choose from 550+ fragrances with the standard subscription and 850+ with premium. Regardless of the subscription plan, ScentBox offers a variety of cologne options for male subscribers as well; therefore, it makes the list of some of the best subscription boxes for men.
When it comes to what they deliver, ScentBox comes with a 30-day supply of a fragrance and a signature keepsake box. More specifically, you get enough for 125 sprays, which is about four sprays per day. If you’re conservative with your sprays like I am, the little bottle might even last you longer than a month! Thankfully, you can check out all the premium fragrances before you subscribe so you can see if they’re worth the upgrade.
Moreover, they also offer a variety of filters on their website which you can use to find the perfect perfume for you. You can filter the ScentBox perfume list by brand or fragrance notes (which they have a ton of options for). The best part? They offer free exchanges if you hate a perfume!
Finally, one thing I didn’t like is that they don’t have fragrance samplers that come with more than one perfume. That type of subscription is certainly something I’d subscribe to rather than receiving only one perfume per box–I prefer to try out a few different kinds before I pick one.
ScentBox Coupon & Payment Options
ScentBox accepts any credit or debit card payment from Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. As previously mentioned, first-order coupons are also being offered. However, make sure to check out the latest ScentBox reviews as those will have the most recent coupons while the ones mentioned here might be expired by the time you get your hands on them.
When it comes to my first order, I was able to receive a coupon for 35% off the first month that I found advertised right on their website’s homepage. As I opted for the premium subscription, the price came to around $13, which is even lower than the regular cost of the standard subscription.
I also came across a coupon that granted 50% off the first month! Sadly, I found it after I had already purchased my box with 35% off. Although I’m not sure how long it will be valid, the code for this deal is ‘SCENT50’ and only new customers can redeem it.
ScentBox & Competitors
Luxury Scent Box vs. ScentBox
When I was looking for coupons to redeem at ScentBox, I noticed that customers often confuse these two. Although they are two entirely different companies, both offer pretty much the same service and have very similar names.
One of the differences I found with Luxury Scent Box is the pricing, which is set at $15 per month. Another point worth mentioning is that their perfumes come in 9 ml bottles rather than 8 ml.
Moreover, they offer very similar coupons for the first month, and all Luxury Scent Box reviews I found were nearly the same as the ones for ScentBox. That was nothing less than expected as these two subscription box services are nearly identical.
Which is Better? ScentBox vs. Scentbird
Another comparable fragrance subscription is Scentbird. I’d say it’s hard to choose a winner because, like with Luxury Scent Box, the subscriptions are so similar. There’s nothing that distinguishes one from the other except for minimal aspects such as website layout, customer service, and perfume selection. As the case was with Luxury Scent Box, I looked up a bunch of reviews comparing ScentBox vs. Scentbird and I couldn’t find many differing opinions.
That being said, Scentbird advertises over 450 perfumes to choose from, which is a little bit less than what ScentBox’s standard subscription offers. It costs $14.95 per month so, if you’re paying regular price, Scentbird is an extra $1 per month compared to ScentBox. I’m positive I’ll be trying out this subscription as well, so stay tuned for future Scentbird reviews where I’ll compare the two side-by-side.
My First ScentBox!
My first ScentBox was everything I expected it to be. It came in a small, golden bubble mailer. When opened, I found their signature black ScentBox case that elegantly held my little perfume travel spritzer inside
The spritzer was a pretty rose gold color and was also branded with their logo. The name of the fragrance was on the bottom. In my shipment, they also included a coupon for 15% off full-size bottles (the promo code is ‘THANKS15’), and an advertisement card for their two scents of the month.
As for the fragrance, I chose one of the Scentbox premium fragrances Gucci Bloom, which I’ve been eyeing for a while. A full-size bottle of it costs $94. It’s a floral fragrance with key notes of Rangoon Creeper, Jasmine Bud, and Tuberose. While I liked this scent, I didn’t like it enough to purchase a full-size bottle. Otherwise, the scent is pretty strong and lasts throughout the day.
I’m glad I was able to try this perfume out and get the chance to decide if I want to use it long-term. Next month, I’ll be trying out a Juicy Couture fragrance that I think I’ll like better!
