Glossybox is a thrilling way to try out new beauty and skincare products. Each month, they ship out five (sometimes even six) items hand-picked for you, based on your preferences. They’re not all samples either! I’ve received a surprising amount of full-size items in my boxes. Glossybox has aided me in discovering some of my favorite brands and products.Glossybox Review - 2018 Unboxing

Shipping + Packaging

As with last month’s box, I received my June box near the middle of the month. It came in a black shipping box with the elegant, light pink Glossybox inside. Upon unboxing, I found a fold-out booklet on top that described the products I received.

Glossybox Review - Unboxing

My items were placed neatly underneath a pink tissue paper. In total, I received six products in my June box!

I’ll be reviewing each product in more detail below.

Product Reviews

Karl Lagerfeld + Model Co. Lip Liner in Rosewood

Lip liners are one of my favorite makeup items. I received a lovely blush from this collection in May’s Glossybox, so I expected another great-quality item this month. To start off, the box was pink, but it said red on it, which made me believe it would be a red shade. However, it’s actually a rose pink lip liner (called Rosewood). I don’t mind though – I prefer pink shades over red.

Glossybox Review - Karl Lagerfield + Model Co. Lip Liner

Overall, I loved this lip liner. It’s creamy and effortless to apply. The pigmentation is fantastic. It also stays put for longer than most similar products I own! The formula doesn’t dry out my lips, even when I use it on my entire lips rather than just lining them.

Retail value: Unsure because this collection is sold out, but I’d say $15-20

Icon Mini Eyeshadow Palette by Absolute New York in Gold Glitz

I adore nude eyeshadows – these are usually the only shades I wear. This Icon Mini palette has six beautiful colors. Some are shimmery, but there are also a couple without shimmer. I’m glad they mixed it up because I like both types. The shades range from very light to very dark. They’re reasonably sheer at first, but you can build up to make it denser. The first shade is very difficult to see in the swatches.

The small size makes this palette perfect for traveling!

Retail value: $8.99

Emite Makeup Rose Gold Eyelash Curler

This eyelash curler is hands-down my favorite item in this month’s Glossybox. It curls my lashes exceptionally well without pulling on or damaging them. The rose gold color is gorgeous. I’ll be putting this product to use nearly every day! My eyelashes look so much better when I use it. Sometimes I’ll even use it when I’m not wearing makeup – to give my lashes an extra curl and make them look longer. They also included three extra rubber pads as a replacement part.

The retail price of this itself is more than the entire box costs, so I’d already say my Glossybox was definitely worth the price this month.

Glossybox Review - Body Lotion

Retail value: $25

Gilchrist & Soames English Garden Body Lotion

I wasn’t too impressed by this floral-scented body lotion. It smelled all right and didn’t moisturize my skin very well. It came in a little sample of 2 oz, which is only worth about $3.

Retail value: $24 for a 15.5 oz bottle

Bellápierre Banana Setting Powder

I have never had a banana setting powder before, so I couldn’t wait to try this one out. This will last forever because it’s a full-size. The yellow color gives the powder color-correcting abilities to counteract redness or discoloration. For me, it works well for spot correcting and setting under-eye makeup.

Glossybox Review - Banana Powder

It doesn’t feel heavy on my skin, and a little goes a long way. If you use too much, it’ll settle into lines and look terrible. My t-zone tends to get red and oily, so using this powder here worked well to battle both redness and oiliness simultaneously.

Retail value: $32.97 for a 0.14 oz

Temple Spa Repose Aromatherapy Resting Cream

This Temple Spa resting cream is just the product I’ve needed to help me relax. It’s made in England and came in a 0.5 fl oz container. The instructions tell users to “massage into face and neck anytime you and your skin need to rest.” It’s supposed to deeply moisturize, soothe skin, help relaxation, and leave you feeling calm. It also has antioxidant benefits and works for all skin types.

Glossybox Review - TempleSpa Resting Cream

This sounded like a lot of promise for one little product. Upon use, I noticed that it moisturizes my skin very well and it smells fantastic! The aroma of it is thoroughly relaxing and perfect before bedtime or after a relaxing bath. It doesn’t feel greasy either. Many products falsely claim to have “calming effects,” but I actually noticed that I felt relaxed after using this cream.

Retail value: $60 for a 1.6 fl oz container

Savings Opportunities

Coupons are one of the best ways to save money with subscription boxes. Glossybox coupons are always changing, so I make sure to include current ones in each review.

20GLOSSY: This code will grant 20% off your first month subscription.

DOUCCE: This code will give a free full-size Doucce mascara with your first box as a new subscriber.

Another way to save money is by subscribing for a more extended plan length, such as 3-month, 6-month, or annual.

Bottom Line
To sum up this Glossybox review, I was once again pleased with my June box. There was only one product I disliked, and it was worth very little, so this barely affects the total value of the box (which was around $72). With the high value and perfect variety of products, Glossybox is definitely worth the price.
