FabFitFun Fall 2018 Review + Unboxing
If you’re a lover of beauty subscription boxes, you may have already heard of FabFitFun. Rather than monthly boxes, they offer seasonal boxes that contain only full-size items. They also always contain a variety of different items, including beauty and skincare products, home items, accessories, and more.
One of my favorite perks of this subscription is that each box is worth significantly more than you pay. For example, my summer FabFitFun box was worth over $200! This is an amazing deal since boxes cost just $49.99. They also provide more name-brand items than I expected—my last box contained a Tarte palette, a Foreo Luna skincare device, a Pier1 Imports marble tray, and more!
Shipping + Packaging
As I mentioned in previous FabFitFun reviews, their packaging is adorable! The boxes always have a cute, colorful design that matches the season and makes them stand out from other subscription boxes. This month’s box had a blue background with a fall-inspired design in orange and red colors.
Upon unboxing, I found lots of exciting goodies! There was also a FabFitFun magazine (which had fun articles as well as information about the products in my box) and a few coupons.
I’ll be reviewing each item I received below.
Beautyblender Makeup Sponge
As I mentioned earlier, one great thing about FabFitFun is that they include a lot of name-brand products in their boxes! This beauty blender is the perfect example. I’ve never actually owned a real beauty blender; I always buy knock-off versions since the name-brand is pretty spendy for just one sponge. However, I definitely noticed the difference with the real thing. It’s lovely and easy to clean!
I got the lime green “glow” color! Unfortunately, it didn’t glow in the dark like I thought it might. It’s very bright though, it almost looks like it’s glowing.

Vince Camuto Luck Tote
I was ecstatic to get a new bag just in time for fall! This tote bag is slim, but huge at the same time. It’s black with a pebble printed vegan letter. Although I love it, I wouldn’t use it as my daily bag since I don’t need to carry much. It’s great for a special occasion.
It also fits my laptop perfectly, so I’ll be using it to carry that around whenever I’m working from my computer on the go. I was most surprised by the retail price—the value of this tote alone is more than double the price of the entire box!
Retail value: $128
Farmacy Dew It All Total Eye Cream with Echinacea GreenEnvy™
Most eye creams I receive are tiny samples from other beauty boxes, which isn’t ideal. It’s hard to know if the product works with such a small sample that doesn’t long—eye products usually take a bit of time to show results. I’m glad I got this full-size eye cream to try out.
Upon first use, I noticed how well it moisturizes, and it feels lovely on my skin. I’ll update how it works once I’ve been using it longer.
Retail value: $38
GLAMGLOW BUBBLESHEET™ Oxygenating Deep Cleanse Mask
This is another example of a largely popular product included in a FabFitFun box. I’ve tried a few GlamGlow masks before, and they were absolutely amazing, so you can imagine my joy to discover it in my box. I’d never tried their sheet masks. This one is supposed to help remove dirt and clean out your pores, as well as even out your skin. I got two of these in my box.
I loved them! My pores definitely appear smaller after using these masks. It also felt very soft and clean. I wasn’t too surprised because their other masks gave me fantastic results in the past.
Retail value: $18 ($9 each)
Simply Whimsical Set of 2 Tea Towels
These tea towels were a sweet addition to the box. Small towels in my house always seem to disappear, so it’s nice to add a couple more to the depleting collection.
These are white with a grey zig-zag design. They look great in my kitchen!
Retail value: $14.99
Alfred Coffee French Press
Alfred Coffee in LA is one of my favorite spots to grab a latte. Sounds basic, right? It’s hard to resist when their coffee is so delicious (they use my favorite kind). Anyways, this French Press is made by them as well. There were two products from Alfred that FabFitFun gave out—this French press or an adorable floral printed teapot.
I’m so disappointed I didn’t get the teapot! Sadly, I don’t like French press as much as most other coffee types. It’s still cute though, I’ll probably give it to a friend as a gift. If I subscribed annually, I would be able to customize my box and been able to choose which one I got. This is one of the drawbacks of the seasonal subscription, and I’m very tempted to subscribe annually because of this feature.
Retail value: $22
Catherine Malandrino Umbrella
This was the only product I didn’t like. The pink floral print was a little too much, and I’ll have no need for an umbrella anytime soon. However, it’s a thoughtful addition for people who live somewhere that starts to receive rain in the fall.
It’s a high-quality umbrella too!
Retail value: $39.99
SKIN&CO Roma Blue in Capri Shower Gel
I wasn’t too excited about this product until I learned it can be used as a bubble bath! I love the herbal scent and taking a bath with this is so relaxing.
Although it didn’t get too bubbly, the aroma was very strong (which is the best part).
Retail value: $22
Grown Alchemist Hydra-Repair Day Cream: Camellia, Geranium Blossom
I’d actually been needing a new facial moisturizer, so this came right on time! The bottle has a ton of product—I can already tell that it’ll last me quite a long time. It smells amazing and does well at nourishing my skin.
This product goes well with the Farmacy eye cream I also received.
Retail value: $49
LUNA Rica Cashew Butter–Filled Fruit & Nut Bar in Salted Caramel Nut
This is a bonus item. I didn’t think I’d be able to eat it since I’m vegan, but I was wrong! It’s organic, gluten-free, and vegan. Although I didn’t like that it has cane sugar added, I figured it wasn’t too much since date paste is the first ingredient.
I was surprised it wasn’t higher in calories since it’s filled with cashew butter. There are only 170 calories in the entire bar. Overall, it doesn’t look too appetizing, but it was amazing!
FabFitFun offers a few opportunities for new subscribers to save money. For one, they offer a trial box that’s much cheaper ($19.99) and ships right away. This is a smaller box that allows you to test out the subscription with a few products they’ve included in past boxes. If the next FabFitFun box isn’t for a couple months, it’s a good way to get your fix in the meantime.
If you’d rather jump the gun and get the full subscription right away, they offer a coupon to save money on this as well. You can save $10 on your first box with the code HOT or SWEETS (both should work).
As much as I love FabFitFun, it might not be the best fit for everybody. If you prefer monthly boxes or boxes that focus on just one type of product, we’ve still got you covered.
For example, if you want just beauty or skin care products, we have a list of all the best beauty and skincare boxes. The majority of these are monthly boxes. One that I love is Boxycharm, which provides five full-size beauty products for just $21 every month. This is a great option if you don’t like samples and want just beauty products! There are many similar options that you’ll find on our list.
